For Immediate Release:

ARTSPLIT, the pioneering art trading platform for African art, successfully hosted its inaugural physical auction on Sunday, 15 May 2022, in Lagos, Nigeria, with respected collectors, artists, and art enthusiasts.

The auction featured lots, including ‘Agbogho Mmuo’ from the Ogolo series by one of Africa’s most influential artists, Ben Enwonwu. It also featured Ghanaian sculptor and 2008 Venice Biennale lifetime award winner El Anatsui’s carved and painted wood sculpture Human Wall.

ARTSPLIT withdrew one lot from the auction before the sale, hoping to list the work in the future.

Speaking on the withdrawal, ARTSPLIT reiterated its commitment to ensuring the authenticity and prestige of all its artworks, providing its community with the most credible works for investment.
